Originally from the Birmingham, AL area, Pastor Dave has 44 years of pastoral and ministry leadership experience in churches large and small. He holds a Ph.D. in Theological Studies in Old Testament from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS), Deerfield, IL, as well as a Master of Divinity, Master of Theology in Old Testament, and Master of Arts-Biblical Counseling from Grace Theological Seminary, Winona Lake, IN. He has served as Professor of Old Testament at Biola University/Talbot School of Theology, La Mirada, CA. Dave’s life goals, and what he describes as God’s inescapable call, are life-on-life discipleship, preaching, and missions. Dave and his wife, Joni, have been married for 39 years and have two children and two grandchildren. He loves playing and watching sports (as an avid Alabama fan), hunting & fishing, reading, and coffee. Pastor Dave began his partnership with us in Christ’s work at First Baptist Church of Tellico Village on July 1, 2023.

Kem was raised in the Ozarks and is known for his humble nature and his desire to serve God with all his heart, soul, and mind. He is passionate about discipling people as followers of Jesus Christ. Kem holds a Bachelor of Science in Religious Education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO, and a Master of Art in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. With over 45 years of ministry experience, he has served a church in Missouri and two churches in North Carolina. Kem has been married to his wife, Carol, for over 45 years, and they have four daughters and four grandchildren. He joined First Baptist Church of Tellico Village in May 2019 and has been serving there since.

Michelle grew up in California and lived in Washington state for several years. However, in November 2021, she and her husband, along with their two sons, moved to Tennessee, a place she never thought God would lead her to. She is currently enjoying exploring her new surroundings with her family and feels blessed to be serving at First Baptist Church of Tellico Village.
